THE FIRST SELECTION
This was the first barrel selected by the Keeper. After sampling a range of possibilities, this high-rye bourbon was the one that demanded another chapter.
Its story began on August 11, 2020, when a mash bill of 73% corn and 27% rye was first laid into oak. On March 11, 2024, the whiskey began its second maturation in a Char #2 barrel.
Years of aging and a second life in oak happened before the Keeper ever took the watch. That history wasn't something to replace. It was something to inherit.
After sampling many barrels — 99% corn, wheat, rye, and double-oaked wheat — this double-oaked high rye screamed, “Pick me.” Spice, caramel, oak and vanilla made the choice easy. At cask strength it was complex, layered, full of flavor, and ready to be enjoyed.
On September 7, 2026, forty-eight bottles were drawn and bottled at 128.7 proof, formally opening Chapter I: The Inheritance.
An inheritance is not simply something received. It is something entrusted.
