The Prelude was the first pull from the barrel that would become The Chronicle. It was taken primarily to test and confirm proof and to preserve a reference to the whiskey at the moment it came under the Keeper's watch.
There were no Keeper's Select bottles yet, so the whiskey went into an Old Fitzgerald 7 Year Bottled-in-Bond bottle. No formal release. No numbered run. No custom presentation. Just one bottle connecting what came before to what would come next.
It was never intended as a formal release. It is also no longer full. Some whiskey asks to be revisited.
